Obituary for Michael Rade Stojsavljevic

Print
August 20, 1956 - August 11, 2018. Of South Milwaukee left us unexpectedly. Beloved husband of Carolyn, and loving father to son Sam, and daughter Anna. Preceded in death by his parents, Rade and Georgia Rae. Son-in-law of Jim and Barb.

Mike is survived by his Stoj family -- Tom and Mitzi, Milette and Wayne, Joel and Nada, and MaryKay and Mark, and the Kobza's - David, Kathy and Mark, Ed and Michelle, and Paul and Maureen. Proud uncle and "Boss" to Sarah, Tommy, Jason, Lisa, Katie, Carly, Josh, Jennifer, Jim, Jon, Alex, Casey, Brittany, Veronica, Amy and Aaron. Further survived by other family members. Mike's family stretched far beyond his immediate. If you were a friend, you were family.

Stoj was proud of his Serbian heritage. A 1974 graduate of South Milwaukee High School and lifelong resident. A 1980 graduate of UW-LaCrosse. Mike dedicated many years to the South Milwaukee Recreation Department as a grounds person, supervisor, referee and coach. A special thank you to Stan Dorff.

To his Northwest/Delta family, you were his home away from home. He loved his job, airplanes, sunrises and each and every one of you in his own special way.

Stoj always believed in being a part of something larger. He loved sports and believed sports developed a lifetime of memories. Triumphs and defeats stay with you long after a season is over. Kids will one day forget who was in their math class, but their team they will never forget. Mike was honored to be a part of your team. His season may have ended but his legacy will live on.

Until we meet again, Pops. Laku Noć
